We looked at other fonts but they didn't look appropriate I looked at Wiki Arabic, Al Jazeera and we tried to get fonts that looked "normal." Arial and Arabic Typesetting were close enough and also appear to be free (font licensing is a mountain of paperwork). Now go to the text options in the upper bar and choose a font from the drop-down menu. With the text layer active, click and drag over the text to highlight it. In Photoshop we used the Arabic Typesetting font, whereas in our proprietary software we used Arial. To change the font in Photoshop, select the Type Tool and click on your text layer to select it. I wonder if this is not a font problem, but a settings problem. We pasted it into Word and there's no problem.īut when we paste correct Arabic text into Adobe Photoshop or our own proprietary software, to convert it into game text, all of a sudden the letters become disjointed, as if each letter stands alone. ![]() In all versions of Excel, the Arabic displays just fine. ![]() The text was translated by native speakers at a reputable translation company, and we checked with a third party just to be triply sure. ![]() We're making an Arabic version of a video game.
